Fossil dinosaur footprints have been found in the Blisworth Limestone Formation of the Great Oolite Group. This overlies the traditional 'Lincolnshire Limestones' used for buildings in Lincoln. The Great Oolite outcrops on the east side of Lincoln and therefore this stone may come from Greetwell Quarry (Ruth Siddall).
