Location of Geological Feature
Stone used for the plinth of the statue. This is an homogenous, micaceous sandstone and is therefore probably a variety of Rough Rock Millstone Grit. Cavendish was 8th Duke of Devonshire and the stone possibly came from the Chatsworth Estate.
